Editor's Review

Family Dollar, a family-owned business since 1992, has carved out a niche for itself in Washington, DC, by providing discount groceries and household supplies that appeal to budget-conscious shoppers. With an overall rating of 3.7 out of 5 based on 294 reviews, the store stands out for its competitive prices on name-brand products and its acceptance of EBT/SNAP benefits. One reviewer mentioned, 'Looked like it was for LIG ppl.. but it had everything,' highlighting the variety available, especially for those on tight budgets.

However, not all feedback is glowing. A recurring theme among reviews is the store's disarray. Linda Eckles expressed concern about the store's organization, stating, '...it's going to take more than cheap prices, and pretty good selection to overcome stock laying loose on the floor in nearly every aisle.' This sentiment echoes throughout the reviews, indicating that while customers appreciate the bargains, they often feel frustrated by the chaotic shopping environment.

Despite its challenges, Family Dollar remains a vital resource for locals, especially those seeking affordable seasonal items and organic produce. Customers have also praised the friendly staff, with Govind G. noting, 'The last behind the counter was courteous and the very heavy set man... was very friendly and kind.' This warmth from employees seems to help offset some of the operational issues.

Best for: This store is best for budget-conscious shoppers looking for a variety of groceries and household items.

Booked a car, got there and they said it was canceled. No explanation. And they wouldn’t rebook me for anything. Horrible customer service. I would not recommend using this service. Pay the higher price and go to enterprise.
