Editor's Review
Walking into Dollar General in Lafayette, LA, often feels like a treasure hunt. Customers frequently comment on the store's wide variety of items, praising its ability to meet both essential needs and unexpected wants. As Dories Chaney put it succinctly, 'Love this store. Go in for a few household needs... and wind up spending $70.' This sentiment resonates with many shoppers, who appreciate the range of products that extend beyond the usual grocery items. From cleaning supplies to snacks and even household decor, it’s a place where you can find just about anything.
However, this abundance sometimes comes at a cost. Reviewer Sonya Johnson highlighted a common issue, saying, 'They put all they can on shelves... still have too much stuff and have to leave in the box on the floor.' Many shoppers echo this concern, noting that the store can feel cramped, especially with carts navigating through narrow aisles cluttered with boxes. It’s clear that while the staff is generally friendly, as Jarmaine Sonnier noted, 'Very nice employees,' operational challenges remain a recurring theme.
Overall, Dollar General appears to be a beloved staple for many Lafayette locals. While some users express frustration over aisle blockages and occasional rude staff, the overall community sentiment leans towards appreciation for the store's variety and affordability. There's something to be said about a place that can quickly fulfill a shopping list while inviting impulse buys along the way.

Very nice employees. Only bad thing is they have their rolltainers blocking a lot of aisles so you can't go down the aisles with your shopping cart.
